Beliefs

Our Faith. In Plain Language.

At St. Peter's, our beliefs are biblical, Christ-centered, and life-giving. Everything we teach, preach, and practice flows from what we believe about God, His Word, and His purposes for humanity.

our beliefs

The following represents our Statement of Faith - the core doctrinal convictions that guide everything at St. Peter's. We hold these truths not as abstract theology, but as the living foundation upon which every member of this church stands.

Statment Of Faith

God
God is a true God consisting in spirit as three distinct Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

The Church
A New Testament church is a self-governing, local group of baptized believers, connected by their faith in the gospel. They practice the ordinances set by Christ, adhere to His teachings, and are committed to sharing the gospel globally. Each congregation functions under Christ’s leadership through democratic means, with every member accountable to Him. The scriptural leadership roles include pastors and deacons, with the pastoral role designated for men as prescribed by Scripture. Additionally, the New Testament refers to the church as the Body of Christ, which includes all believers from every nation and era.

God The Father
God, as Father, reigns with providential care over us. His creatures, and the course of human history, guided by His grace. He is all-powerful, all-knowing, all-loving, and all-wise. God is truly Father to those who become His children through faith in Jesus Christ and is fatherly toward all humanity.

God The Son
Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of the Father and is God incarnate, being the fullness of the Godhead body and the Savior of the world.

The Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit operates as the unlimited and invisible presence of Jesus Christ on earth as Comforter and Advocate, indwelling every born-again believer and making the believer’s body His temple.

Salvation
Salvation is redemption offered freely to all who accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Through His sacrifice, eternal redemption is secured for believers.

Regeneration is the transformative work of God’s grace, where believers become new creations in Christ through the conviction of the Holy Spirit, leading to repentance and faith. Repentance is a true turning from sin, while faith is the acceptance and commitment to Christ as Lord and Savior.
